11/29/2023 0 Comments Kansas city jazz festival 2019![]() Vaughn takes pride in writing and producing almost all his music, saying, "I want to be known as a great writer and producer just as much as an artist." ![]() In addition, he has performed abroad in places like Dubai, South Africa, Nigeria, Nairobi, Italy, Spain, and Germany. Vaughn has toured across the U.S., playing at some of the largest jazz festivals. Vaughn racked up four Billboard #1 hits between his albums and 8 #1s overall as a feature on various artists' songs. He later would release albums Limitless (2015), Bona Fide (2017), Supreme (2019), and Chapters of Love (2021). In 2012 he put out the album Breakthrough (2012), featuring the single "On Your Feet," which peaked at #1 on the Billboard chart. Vaughn launched his solo career in 2010 with his album The Purpose Project, which springboarded him into his jazz career. A few years later, he became good enough to start playing at concerts and live gospel recordings. Vaughn developed his playing style while growing up in the church where his grandfather pastored until turning over the reins to Vaughn's father. The Project H, Marcus Lewis Big Band (Brass and Boujee), Chris Hazelton, Louis Neal Big Band, the David Basse/Joe Cartwright Septet, Clint Ashlock's New Jazz Order Big Band, Patrick Lentz Band/KC FLO, Musical Theater Heritage,ĭavid George Band, Brass Rewind, Joey Panella Trio and his own group, Nate performs regularly around Kansas City with Other highlights include performing with The Temptations, Michael Feinstein, Bobby Watson’s 18th and Vine Big Band with Jon Faddis, Jerry Bergonzi and KU All Star Big Band, The New York Voices and Kansas City Jazz Orchestra, and Paducah Symphony Orchestra w/ trumpeter Allen Vizzutti. In 2021, Nall perfomed for JEN (Jazz Education Network) with the Marcus Lewis Big Band/Brass and Boujee as a featured soloist in the ensemble. Jazz Studies from University of Missouri-Kansas City where he studied with Jazz Messenger and saxophonist Bobby Watson. In 2016, Nall won 2nd place in the distinguished National Trumpet Competition Jazz Division. Nate holds a B.M. And a residency participant in "Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead" performing original music at Washington D.C.'s Kennedy Center. He has been featured on the nationally syndicated "12th st jump" jazz radio program. He was a featured soloist with the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra and Deborah Brown on a 2018 tour to Germany and Poland. Trumpeter Nate Nall has performed at Kansas City's most prominent jazz venues, including the Blue Room at the American Jazz Museum and Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
